Licinius I AE 3 Follis, Emperor AD 308-324, minted at Cyzicus AD 317-320, RIC 9, Obverse: laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Licinius I facing left, holding a mappa in his right hand and a scepter in his left, IMP LICINIVS AVG, Reverse: Jupiter standing left, holding his scepter in his left hand and a globe on which Victory is perched in his right, a wreath in the left field, E in the right, IOVI CONSERVATORI AVGG, SMK in exergue, a lovely coin with very, very light black patina and super surfaces, very nice portrait of the emperor and a detailed Jupiter and devices on the reverse, full and clear legends on both sides with the exception of IM in IMP partly off the flan on the obverse, Asking price: $45 includes priority shipping and insurance in the U.S., registered to other countries (see shipping information page)

Licinius I AE 3, Emperor AD 308-324, minted at Cyzicus AD 317-320, RIC 9, Obverse:  laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Licinius I facing left, holding mappa in his right hand and a scepter over his shoulder with his left, IMP LICINIVS AVG, Reverse:  Jupiter standing left, holding a scepter in his left hand and a globe on which Victory is perched in his right, a wreath in left field, B in right field, IOVI CONSERVATORI AVGG, SMK in exergue, a lovely coin with even light green patina, very nice portrait of Licinius, detailed Jupiter on the reverse, full and clear legends on both sides, very mild surface roughness noted for accuracy, hardly perceptible in hand, a little gem of a coin in my opinion, Asking price:  $43 includes priority shipping and insurance, registered to other countries (see shipping information page)

Licinius I Follis, Emperor AD 308-324, minted at Antioch AD 313-314, RIC 8, 3.2 gms, Obverse:  laureate bust of Licinius I facing right, IMP C VAL LICIN LICINIVS PF AVG, Reverse:  Jupiter standing facing with his head turned left, holding a long scepter in his left arm and holding a globe on which Victory is perched in his right hand, an eagle with a wreath in its beak at his feet, IOVI CONSERVATORI AVGG, in the right field is a wreath, (Delta) I, III, with ANT in exergue, an attractive coin with lovely yellowish-brown patina, a very nice portrait of Licinius and a detailed Jupiter and devices on the reverse, full and clear legends on both sides but a few letters on both obverse and reverse just barely off the flan, Asking price:  $55 includes priority shipping and insurance in the U.S., registered to other countries (please see shipping information page)

000_4191.jpg000_4192.jpg000_4195.jpg000_4188.jpgLicinius I AE Follis, Emperor AD 308-324, minted at Ticinum, 1st Officina, AD 313, RIC VII 4 (r4 for rarity), 22 mm, 4.83 gms, Obverse:  laureate bust of Licinius I facing right, IMP LICINIVS PF AVG, Reverse:  Sol standing left, chlamys across his shoulder, raising his right hand and holding a globe in his left palm, SOLI INVICTO COMITI, PT in exergue, beautiful coin that is well centered and struck with attractive even very light brown patina, great portrait of Licinius, detailed Sol, full and clear legends on both sides with the exception of the S in SOLI not fully struck up, the numismatist dealer from whom I purchased the coin states of it:  “This is the best of both worlds-rare AND attractive.  Rated r4 for rarity in RIC.  This is the larger module-not the little 20 mm, 3.0 variety.”  A lovely, lovely coin that my photography doesn’t do justice to, well struck and centered,  Asking price:  $290 includes priority shipping and insurance in the U.S., registered to other countries (please see shipping information page)
