Orbiana Denarius, wife of Severus Alexander (Emperor AD 222-225), minted at Rome circa AD 226, RIC 319, RSC 1,  3.32 gms, Obverse:  draped bust of Orbiana facing right, wearing a stephane in her hair, SALL BARBIA ORBIANA AVG, Reverse:  Concordia seated left, holding a patera in her extended right hand and cradling two cornucopiae in her left arm, CONCORDIA AVGG, a very lustrous and beautiful coin with an equally pretty portrait of this ill-fated empress in very (very) high relief (the coin totters when I photographed the reverse), a detailed and well struck reverse, full and clear legends on both sides, graded Mint State by the numismatist/dealer from whom I purchased the coin, Asking price:  $1,250 includes priority shipping and insurance in the U.S., registered to other countries (please see shipping information page)

Orbiana Denarius, wife of Severus Alexander (Emperor AD 222-235), struck at Rome AD 225, RIC 319, RSC 1,  19mm, 2.79 gms, Obverse:  diademed and draped bust of Orbiana facing right, SALL BARBIA ORBIANA AVG, Reverse:  Concordia seated left, holding a patera in her right hand and cradling two cornucopiae in her left arm, CONCORDIA AVGG, a lustrous coin with very, very light and attractive gray toning, a fetching and pretty and very high relief portrait of Orbiana, a detailed Concordia and devices on the reverse, full and clear legends on both sides with the exception of the S in SALL a touch off the flan, a real jewel of an Orbiana in my opinion, with beautiful toning and clearly struck from fresh dies and well centered, Asking price:  $1,250 includes priority shipping and insurance in the U.S., registered to other countries (see shipping information page)

Orbiana Denarius, wife of Severus Alexander (Emperor AD 222-235), minted at Rome circa AD 226, RIC 319, RSC 1,  3.37 gms, Obverse:  draped bust of Orbiana facing right, wearing a stephane in her hair, SALL BARBIA ORBIANA AVG, Reverse:  Concordia seated left, holding a patera in her outstretched right hand and cradling two cornucopiae in her left arm, CONCORDIA AVGG, very lustrous coin with just the tiniest touch of attractive toning, a fetching and pretty portrait of Orbiana in very (very!) high relief, detailed Concordia on the reverse, and full and clear legends on both sides, just a jewel of an example of the denarius of this beautiful and ill-fated empress, graded Mint State by the numismatist/dealer from whom I purchased it, and a real gem with one of the cutest portraits of Orbiana I’ve ever seen, but that’s my opinion, Asking price:  $1,450 includes priority shipping and insurance in the U.S., registered to other countries (see shipping information page)
