Magnentius Centenionalis/AE 2
Magnentius Centenionalis/AE 2, Emperor (of the West) AD 350-353, Van Meter 24, 22 mm, Obverse: bare-headed, draped, and cuirassed bust of Magnentius facing right, DN MAGNENTIVS PF AVG, Reverse: Two Victories standing facing each other holding a shield (I’ve also seen this described as a wreath, which it looks more like!) inscribed VOT V MVLT X. And around: VICT DD NN (Christogram:Chi-Ro) AVG ET CAES, lovely light green/brown and sandy/desert patina make a very pretty contrast on this coin, wonderful and detailed portrait of Magnentius, very detailed Victories and devices, a superb little Chi-Ro at the very top, full and clear legends on both sides, graded EF/EF by the numismatist/dealer from whom I purchased it, a lovely coin and the Chi-Ro and reverse legend make this a scarcer variety for Magnentius, Asking price: $132 includes priority shipping and insurance
