Constans AE 3, Emperor AD 337-350, uncertain mint (at least to me!), struck AD 348-350, 18 mm, 2.25 gms, Obverse: diademed, draped, and cuirassed bust of Constans facing right, DN CONSTANS PF AVG, Reverse: Constans standing at the prow of a galley piloted by Victory at the stern, the emperor holding a labarum with Chi-Ro with his left hand and holding a phoenix in his right hand, FEL TEMP REPARATIO, a very lovely coin with light gray/brown patina, an excellent and sharp portrait of Constans, a detailed reverse scene in all its devices, full and clear obverse legend, the very first part of the reverse legend and the mintmark are off the flan, graded Nice EF by the numismatist/dealer from whom I purchased the coin and who remarks of it: “Common coin but this example is better struck than most.” Asking price: $55 includes priority shipping and insurance, registered to other countries (see shipping information page)

Constans Half Centenionalis AE3, Emperor AD 337-350, Van Meter 69, 20 mm, 2.3 gms, Obverse: diademed, draped, and cuirassed bust of Constans facing right, DN CONSTANS PF AVG, Reverse: a phoenix standing right upon a pyre, holding a wreath in its beak, FEL TEMP REPARATIO, (Gamma)SIS in exergue, very attractive light chocolate brown patina, a detailed and wonderful portrait of Constans, very detailed and sharp phoenix and pyre on the reverse, full and clear legends on both sides, much sharper in hand: I’m not doing, especially, an accurate depiction of the portrait, a lovely coin and a scarcer type, Asking price: $42 includes priority shipping and insurance

Well centered, sharp strike and great patina.
