Valens AE 3
Valens AE 3, Emperor AD 364-378, minted at Siscia, RIC 15b, just 15b, no subtype (?), 7b ii (?), I can’t tell the difference between these two attributions except date of striking, 19.06 mm, 2.2 gms, Obverse: pearl-diademed, draped, and cuirassed bust of Valens facing right, DN VALENS PF AVG, Reverse: Victory advancing left, holding her wreath and palm branch, SECVRITAS REIPVBLICAE, dot ASISC in exergue, a lovely coin graded EF by the numismatist/dealer from whom I purchased it, and who remarks of it: “Beautiful sharp strike, well centered, smooth fields. Beautiful dark patina.” This dealer attributes the coin as 15b, and is no doubt correct. A great coin indeed, Asking price: $69

includes priority shipping and insurance, registered to other countries (see shipping information page)
