Numerian Antoninianus, Caesar AD 282-283, Emperor AD 283-284, minted at Ticinum as Caesar AD 282-283, RIC 366a, 21 x 22 mm, 3.8 gms, Obverse: radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Numerian facing right, M AVR NVMERIANVS NOB C, Reverse: Numerian standing left, holding a wand (baton) and long scepter, PRINCIPI IVVENTVT, VXXI in exergue, an attractive coin with even light gray toning, a great (!) portrait of Numerian, a more than decently detailed Numerian on the reverse, and all inscriptions are full and clear, a lovely coin, Asking price: $93 includes priority shipping and insurance in the U.S., registered to other countries (please see shipping information page)



Numerian Antoninianus
Numerian Antoninianus, Emperor AD 283-284, minted at Antioch, RIC V, Part II, 466, 4.49 gms, Obverse: radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Numerian facing right, IMP C M AVR NVMERIANVS PF AVG, Reverse: Numerian facing right, holding a short scepter, receiving Victory perched on a globe from Jupiter (or Carus, his father), who is holding a long scepter, VIRTVS AVGG, E Delta between them in the lower center field, XXI in exergue, very light brown toning that is very attractive, the numismatist/dealer from whom I purchased the coin notes that there is “some silvering,” and this gives the coin a very pretty luster, a sharp and wonderful portrait of Numerian, detailed emperors on the reverse, full and clear legends on both sides, a lovely coin indeed, Asking price: $225 includes priority shipping and insurance in the U.S., registered to other countries (please see shipping information page)
Numerian Antoninianus
AD 283-284, RIC 423, minted at Rome, 22mm, 3.2 gms, Obverse: radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Numerian facing right, IMP NVMERIANVS AVG, Reverse: Numerian standing left, holding a globe in his right hand and a long scepter in his left, VNDIQVE VICTORES, KAS in exergue, a sharp and beautiful coin with lovely rich and even green patina, superlative and very bold portrait, detailed Numerian on the reverse, very striking legends on both sides of the coin, very well centered and struck, my research tells me this is a very scarce reverse type and this particular coin an exceptional example of the coinage of Numerian, Asking price: $375 includes priority shipping and insurance in the U.S., registered to other countries (please see shipping information page)
Numerian Antoninianus
AD 283-284, struck at the Lugdunum mint, RIC 388, 21-23 mm, Obverse: radiate and armored (cuirassed) bust of Numerian facing right, IMP C NVMERIANVS AVG, Reverse: Mars advancing right, carrying a spear and a trophy, MARS VICTOR, C in the lower right field, rich chocolate brown toning, superb portrait and detailed reverse, full and clear legends with the exception of the T and O in VICTOR not fully struck up, the numismatist/dealer from whom I purchased the coin states of it: “Well centered with just a trace of wear, bold portrait, large flan.” He grades the coin EF, and it is indeed a lovely coin, especially in hand, my research and experience tells me it is scarce at the very least, and an exceptional coin of this issue, Asking price: $245 includes priority shipping and insurance

AD 282-283, RIC 394, minted at Lugdunum, 22.2 mm, 3.6 gms, Obverse: radiate and cuirassed bust of Numerian facing right, holding a spear over his left shoulder, IMP C NVMERIANVS AVG, Reverse: Pax standing left, holding an olive branch in her upraised right hand and a long transverse scepter in her left arm, PAX AVGG, B in the left field, rich brown patina, more than my photography shows, a beautiful and very detailed coin on both sides, graded FDC by the dealer and numismatist from whom I purchased the coin, and who states of it: “As struck with perfect surfaces and the scarcer right bust holding spear.” A lovely coin indeed well struck and centered with only the very technical observation that the V in AVGG on the reverse not fully struck up, superlative portrait of Numerian, sharp Pax on the reverse, a beauty and very scarce to rare with this bust type, Asking price: $445 includes priority shipping and insurance
